Welcome, I’m Kayla!
I am a licensed psychotherapist with a passion for helping adolescents, young adults, and families heal from childhood trauma. My approach blends compassion, creative arts, and evidence-based practices like Brief Solution-Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to foster resilience and transformation
With a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Georgia State University and a Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University, I bring both academic expertise and extensive clinical experience to my practice. I specialize in supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.
My work focuses on empowering clients to build self-awareness, confidence, and healthy attachments with family, partners, and friends. I emphasize the importance of foundational needs from psychologist Maslow, such as sleep, nutrition, safety, and lifestyle choices while helping clients uncover unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaviors influenced by childhood trauma. Through collaborative exploration, we identify actionable solutions based on your unique strengths to support lasting growth.
If you’re feeling stuck in repetitive cycles or seeking to create healthier relationships and greater emotional balance, I’m here to support you. Let’s work together to achieve the life you deserve by stepping into your own power and be the creator of your own life.
Outside of Sessions
I enjoy nurturing my relationships with my family and friends, practicing yoga, hiking, and engaging with the art world through galleries, film, and music.
